Norfork Lake fishing and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

The lake level is still dropping a bit with several hours of running one generator. We are now at 550.90 and the surface water temperature was 55.6 when I went out yesterday and the lake is clearing. Tom Stanton and Mike Eakle went out and caught 4 nice stripers in the float creek area but it was not easy.  They were trolling umbrellas. I went crappie fishing and they were not biting at all for me so I went after bass.  They were biting. I caught my limit including largemouth, smallmouth and Kentucky. They were next to cover about 10-12 feet from the bank on steep river channels. I was using a small grub. I had on a nice walleye but someone had removed my net from my boat and forgot to put it back . I released them all anyway but the walleye was a quick release at the side of the boat. It is not a nice sound when you hear that pop. The net is back in the boat now but it is usually tangled up in other poles anyway. I need to get more organized some day but have a hard time getting that serious. I just like to be out and really enjoy the peace and quiet and not fishing under pressure. It was a beautiful evening and the wind dropped to about right at 4:pm when the fish started to bite. I have been writing a fishing report for 20-years now since I took over for my friend Gary Sperry who passed. He was a good striper fishermen.
