Scuba Steve From Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental On Norfork Lake Arkansas Near Mountain Home in the Ozark Mountains Blog. (Click Here For Comments)

We received a little less than an inch of rain early this morning but it is sunny now. The lake went up about 1/2 inch and is now at 577.50 with a surface temperature of just over 72 degrees. It was not a good night to be in a tent. The shad are in the brush and under debris and it is making it harder for the game fish to get to them. Not like when they are in open water where the fish can stay right on them and feed on demand. Bass are biting well on spinner baits in float creek and diamond bay with red meat fish coming up early in both places. Catfish and bass are still biting well on trot lines and limb lines on live shiners and bluegill with smaller ones on prepared bait and chicken livers. The creeks in this area are finally clearing and the water is fairly clear south of Hwy 62 bridge. Go partway back in a creek where the debris does not extent very far from the bank and work a spinner bait in the trees and brush for bass. A lot of campgrounds are either closed or partially closed and parking at launch ramps is at a premium. You can launch at Panther Bay, drive to our dock and park your boat in our dock for free with a cabin rental and park your trailer in our trailer area. You can park you vehicle at the dock and walk just a few steps to get on it or rent one of our low cost boats. Many people are swimming in our big pool with slide.
