Norfork Lake Arkansas near Mountain Home in the Ozarks Mountains Region Fishing Report and Lake Condition by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

Fisherman Mike with a good one.Image title

The lake level is 567.04 and has dropped 5-inches in the last 24-hours with both generators running continuously and stillway gates open to an equivalent of 1/3rd of a generator. The White River at Newport is 14.93 feet and dropping so they should keep generating. The other area lakes are about at the top of their power pool and Norfork is 13-1/2 feet above. Go figure.  The surface water temperature is 63+ degrees and the water is clearing and not as brown as it was. It is a beautiful day today sunny and warm. Wish you were here. Fishing is just fair with the quickly dropping water and big moon but should get better. The best place that I am finding fish is back in the creeks in about 20-ft. of water on the bottom. I am using both the 1/4 ounce spoon and grub. Kentucky Bass are the best bite but you can catch a White Bass or Crappie now and again. Bluegill are biting well off the dock on crickets. Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental still has the best place with the best price and is closest to Mountain Home, dining and shopping. We offer peace and quiet at an affordable price.
