Mike eakle with some nice ones last evening Scuba Diving. Yes we know where they are.
The lake level is 559.96 and has dropped 1-inch in the last 24-hours with generation from 9:AM to 5:PM. Maybe they will lower Norfork now that all area lakes are below top of the power pool except us. We are like the ugly step-child. The White River at newport is 10.85 feet and dropping. I do not know why they are holding all of this water with the heat wave going on all over the country. Government. Do not expect much. Do not get much. They like to keep us just one big rain away from being flooded out for some unknown reason. The surface water temperature was 85-degrees with a thermocline at 27-feet when Scuba Steve came in at 7:PM last evening. The visibility is about 5-feet at the thermocline and is good for this time of year. We found walleye on a main lake point in 27-29 feet of water and a few crappie on a main lake steep bank brush pile at 25-30 feet. Bass are moving to the bank to feed on crawdads in the evening. Stripers and Hybrids are in deep water from 40-55 feet down and hitting jigging spoons. Drop them on their heads. Some larger walleye are with them. Catfishing is getting better with the smaller moon but they do not like dropping water. Live shiners and 3-4 inch bluegill are the best bait. The lake is in excellent condition for boating, swimming, diving and fishing but there is a good chance of rain tomorrow and the 4th. I will be very happy when the holiday is over. It will be a madhouse and the lake will be churned up for several days after. Blackburns has the best prices on both cabins and boat rentals and have 12-pontoons for you to rent. All cabins are individual with no duplexes and all have big covered porches. The big pool with slide and baby pool is ready for you and a free stall for your boat comes with the cabin rental. The children will love the big playground. It is a gently sloped 1/3 mile to the dock so bring their bikes. You do not have to go down a cliff to get to the lake. Compare prices and give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 for a reservation. We will not charge you too much.
