The Davis Boys are back for their semi annual trip and catching fish already. They have been coming to Blackburns for over 20-years and are always welcome. 
The lake level is 556.51 and is up 2-inches in the last 24-hours. They are running the one operating generator from 9:AM to 5 PM and then shutting everything off and are running Bull Shoals very heavily now. The White River at Newport is 13.93 feet and has leveled off and they have been regulating Newport to 14-feet and can start regulating to 12-ft. today. Keeping us at the top of the power pool of 556.75 and regulating Newport to 12-feet is very dangerous for early May and greatly enhances the chances of flooding us out again. I do not know why they do this. Fortunately we have missed all heavy rains and severe weather this spring and if we can get throught the bad weather this afternoon and tonight it looks good for the rest of the week. The lake is at a good level and in good condition at this time and the surface water temperature is 72-degrees. Largemouth are finishing their spawn and crappie continue to be in various stages of spawn. The lake has maintained a fairly constant level all spring due to below average rainfall and the overall spawn has been excellent. Black Bass and White Bass are the best bite right now with White bass in open water on shad and Black Bass in the creeks. There was a top-water bite this morning but not for long. Almost everybody are catching fish and Blackburns is very busy with people taking advantage of the best prices on both cabins and boat rentals in the Ozarks.
