The lake level is 553.82 and is now past the top of the power pool of 553.75 and has risen 3/4 of an inch in the last 24-hours with no dam discharge except minimum flow. The White River at Newport is 2.83 feet and very low. The surface water temperature is just under 50-degrees. We received a little light snow in the late morning that almost covered the ground but it turned to rain and took it all out. It was a damp, cold, miserable day but at least the wind was not blowing. It is cloudy and cold again today but is to get up to near 50-tomorrow. I am not sure I believe that. The wind is to pick up later and the people that wanted it to cool down and have the wind for their friend are getting their wish. Me I like it warm with light and variable winds. The water clarity has diminished a bit and I could see my lure down about 4-feet but it was very cloudy. I spooned a new brush pile and caught a couple of nice crappie and a bass and came in. Our red meat fishermen said they found some across from Cranfield Campground in the bay, across from Bidwell Point and across from Panther Bay Marina near the bridges just off the old river channel. They caught a few but worked hard for them. They were about 50-ft. deep near the bottom. We have a big group in now and they will find them. I am just not into trolling. I like casting for them, feeling the thump and setting the hook. Blackburns is having no price increases this year and what you see is what you get with no surprises. We want our repeat customers, of which we have many, to be able to have an affordable vacation and not pay too much. No we are not for sale and trying to cash out. We like it here and do not want you to pay too much. If you have a need to pay more stay at Blackburns and give the difference to the disabled Veterans.
