The lake level is 555.78 and has dropped 1-1/2 inches in the last 24-hours with less than one generator running. The surface temperature is 66 degrees and the White River level at Newport is about 11-1/2 feet. Same plan. Hold and hope. It was and is cloudy and warm with a little cooler weather coming in but not too bad. A lot of fish were caught here at Blackburns yesterday and all had fun. It is to get a little windy later with a front coming through. Crappie, bass, walleye and bluegill continue to be the best bite and striper fishermen that cannot catch stripers (of any big size) are turning into crappie and bass fishermen. They are trying hard to prove me wrong though and are killing some smaller fish. 10-lb. or less stripers are like the equivalent of catching a 10-inch crappie or a 12-inch Kentucky but they keep showing dock floors of dead ones like they are a big prize.  I guess they will continue to do this until they are all gone. They do not reproduce in the lake and very few were stocked this year. None by the game and fish. It seems like the worse the striper fishing gets, the better the crappie, bass and walleye gets to make up for it. A lot of people like to catch them though and I hope they come back and thrive like they did before. There are plenty of bait fish in the lake for all game species. All of the fish that I am catching are very fat and healthy and there are may schools of shad with no fish on them. I am using the 1/4 ounce Bink's spoon, jig and slip float and minnow  exclusively depending on the wind. I do not troll but do allow the boat to drift over the brush piles and then use the trolling motor to go the other way back across them. If it is still with no or light wind I spoon straight down or the slip float or both. I saw one seagull yesterday maybe that will help the bait fishermen.  It is hard to believe November is almost 1/2 over already. If you are staying at a place where you are nearly the only customer you are paying too much. Come on down. We will not charge you too much and are open all year. Several are closed. Blackburns is a good place.
