The lake level is 555.09 and has dropped 2-1/2 inches in the last 24-hours. They have cut way back on generation and and the total including just a little spillway release is equal to about one generator. The level of the White River at Newport has now been dropped to just over 11 feet. The lake is clearing especially in the creeks where the turnover is over. I can now see several feet down off my dock. It was very windy from the north yesterday and you had to get out early and go out again late to get out of it. It is mostly gone now. It is beautiful out today. A lot of fall foliage was blown off but much still remains and it is changing more everyday. I thought it was going to be a dud because of the dry conditions but has turned out ok so far. Some good fish were caught but the wind kept the fishing time down to a minimum. It was a good day to work on resort improvements.  We will see what today brings. We have several good fishermen out there. The surface temperature is still in the low 70's.
