Norfork Lake fishing and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

The lake level is 551.36 and stable with about 2-hours of one generator running in a 24-hour period. It drizzled rain most of the day yesterday and was cold. That is all to change this weekend with highs to be in the 70's and this continues into next week. The fall foliage in the Norfork Lake, Mountain Home and Ozark Mountain Region is really starting to change now and looks pretty good. Peak will be later on next week as predicted. Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental is your fall filiage headquarters for the area. If you are on a bike we have covered storage for you and we are very close to scenic cruising roads and are in a good central location and not way out in the country far from anything. We are convenient to Mountain Home, dining and shopping. This is a perfect time to rent a boat, cruise the lake, see the fall foliage and get in a little fishing and Blaackburns Resort and Boat Rental has the best place and the best prices. Come on down and we will not charge you too much. A one bedroom cabin is still $59/day for two people. The fish are not jumping in the boat, unless your name is Katashuk, but fishing is fair. The bass are moving to the bank in the late afternoon and feeding on small shad. Crappie fishing is fair but not great and the red meat fish are migrating this way and are not in any particular place. Surface temperature is still near 70 on the main lake in this area and cooler in the creeks. This high pressure will not help fishing much but it will just nice to be out in the beautiful weather. Today should be good fishing.
