Norfork Lake fishing and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

Tom Stanton caught some good ones yesterday. I know where. He always does. He does not go fishing, he goes catching.Image title

The lake level is 554.41 and has dropped about 2-inches in the last 24-hours with several hours of generation last night. White River at Newport is still at 4-ft. and all of the rivers in the area are very low and good for wade fishing. Except for the Buffalo, which is unimpeded, Norfork and White tailwaters are plastic rivers and are 100% dependent on dam discharges, which has not been very much lately. The lake is at a very good level and in general is in excellent condition for fishing, boating and water sports. A lot of fish were caught yesterday and everyone seems to be having a good time. We are very busy here with people taking advantage of our low prices on both cabins and boat rentals and enjoying the big pool with slide and large flat playground. If you are already in the area, check us out before you go home. White bass, bass and walleye are on brush at 25-27 feet and the thermocline is at 23-feet and has not dropped as much as I had anticipated. The mud line is about 4-feet thick but the water clears under that and you can see about 5-6 feet which is good for spearfishing. You have to get down in the cold water and look up so bring your hood and gloves. The weather has cooled a bit and has been very comfortable for a couple of days with a north wind.  Is is to warm a bit later this week. Normal high is 91.  The nights have been cooler with lows in the high 60's. The rain greened the grass up nicely but we still need more. This has been a good year for gardens. Ask when you get here and we can fix you up with some salad stuff. The Mike Hicks family including his daughter Taci from 1220 NW Golfview Drive, Grain Valley, Missouri 816-392-0333 seem to be obsessed with trying to hurt our business for no gain of their own by continuing to write multiple terrible reviews all over the internet. With everything wrong here and nothing right it is a miracle that Blackburns has existed since 1944 and has hundreds of repeat customers.  I hope they will be happy elsewhere and we will try to get along without them somehow. Beware other businesses. I only review people that review me. They are right about not coming back here.
