Norfork Lake fishing and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

The lake level is 545.64 and still dropping with heavy generation for 4 or 5 hours in the mornings. The surface temperature is still 45 and the lake is clearing. You can see your lure down about 5-feet. I did see a very few lethargic shad a little over an inch long yesterday but that is normal. There is no shad kill and the water temperature is not dropping. I went to my best three crappie spots yesterday and caught nothing. They were gone. The brush piles were empty. I switched to bass fishing and caught three keepers. All on the grub. For such a beautiful day with winds from the south at 5-10 and temperatures in the 50's I did not catch many fish. Wii try again tomorrow. I like a challenge. Bink is catching big bass back in big creek but the lake is different there than here. Big creek is more like another lake where further north, they are smaller and shallower. The fish will move back into them when the water warms more consistently and is warmer than the main lake. Warm today. Cool for a couple of days and then warming again. We are heading in the right direction. I only saw three other boats yesterday and two of them were staying at Blackburns. Many other places are closed.
