I went out last evening and it was very comfortable with ambient temperature in the mid 50's with light wind. I only fished Blackburns brush piles and only saw one other boat. It was Tom Kelly and he said he caught several White Bass spooning north of Cranfield Island and a few crappie on my brush. The lake surface temperature was 45 degrees and the water was still a green color and not clearing very much. I fished three places and caught a few crappie and one big one. The good news is that some fish are moving to the brush. They had been very scarce for a couple of weeks. I am not saying it was good but some were there. i took them to a pond that i am stocking. There is a wind advisory out for today but it does not look too bad so far. At least it is warm and it should hit 70's by Thursday. Speaking of Thursday God willing I will be fishing with Bink's Guide service in the morning. We will be bass fishing. It has been several weeks since we have fished together and he might need a few refresher lessons. Not really. He is one of the best bass fishermen on the lake. You can hear Live in the Boat with me as the star on Thursday morning at 8:45 on KTLO 97.9 FM. I always enjoy fishing with him and we have a lot of fun. I like his new boat. It is about the only time I fish the south end of the lake. The lake level is 556.14 and is still dropping a little less than 5-inches a day. When they slow the generation (might be soon) it will clear quickly barring any big rains. It has been very dry here the last several weeks. I will spoon again today and probably use the green grub Thursday. Happy spring is coming. Hope the level stays constant for a while during the spawn.
