Norfork Lake fishing and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

The lake level is 552.04 and is dropping just a bit with a little more generation in the afternoons. The surface temperature is over 84 degrees and rising with the hot weather returning. It is to be sunny and warm with highs near 90 for the next several days. The lake in general is in excellent condition and at a good level for this time of year. Tom Kelly reports catching some good crappie and bass in Bennetts on spoons and rubber worms on or around brush.  Other customers are catching largemouth on lipless crank baits and swim baits. I am fishing and diving the Robinson Point area and am getting a few crappie but not a lot. I am seeing just a few walleye. The lake is still stained a little green and main lake points are holding fish if they have cover. Striper fishing has slowed a bit with not near as many fish coming in. They were mostly small anyway. In general the fish are not in any special pattern and most fishing reports are worth what you pay for them. This will be a good week to have summer-like conditions for swimming and boating. Blackburn's big pool is open and we still have the best prices on both boat rentals and cabins and a free stall for your boat.  Come on down. It will be winter before too long. We will not charge you too much.
