Norfork Lake fishing and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

Bink with a good one caught this morning. More too.Image title

The level is 562.24 and they quit generating for some reason early rhis morning.  Newport is at 12 feet. It would be really good to get it below 560 to open up roads, parking, launching and day use areas.  Maybe they will start again. We have been fortunate to have missed the big rains but we could use a little. It rained just a bit yesterday afternoon and settled the dust. We are dry. Crappie are in cold water in about 30-ft. on brush during the day and big ones too. Walleye are around the thermocline which is at 20-feet with the bass on cover. Stripers are deeper in 50-ft. and will continue to go down. Drop the spoon right on their head. Watch for top water fish early and late. Some big fish are being caught. Surface temperature is in the mid 80's and the lake in general is in good condition. Watch for some big floating logs.
