Norfork Lake fishing and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

Lake level is 562.75 and rising with last night's rain. We receiced about 0.6 inches and we were very dry.  They quit generating just before the rain started. The surface temperature is in the mid 60's back in the creeks where the fish are. A very few crappie are making nests but many more are in 15-ft. of water. A lot of people are fishing too shallow for them. One group caught 25 nice ones yesterday and have been catching them all week. Some walleye are coming in also and are in 20-ft. of water on the bottom.  Blackburns has two cabins open so come on down and join the fun. It is very busy here and people are appreciating the covered porches in the rain today.  No need to stay inside. Good morning to rig your poles. Looks to be good weather starting tomorrow.  Flowers are blooming, birds and wildlife are everywhere and the grass is green. You can get a cabin for $53/day for two people. If you are staying at a place where you are nearly the only customer you are paying too much. The water is clearing nicely and it could be a good year for Scuba Diving. I sure hope so.
