Norfork Lake fishing and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

The lake level is 560.56 and rising with rain on the way. They have dropped the level at Newport to 16-feet and it continues to drop. They could generate a lot more but continue their strategy of hold and hope. Table Rock continues to generate and Norfork has been shut down for almost 24-hours. Go figure. The water color in my area creeks has turned a little greenish brown for some reason. White bass continues to be the best bite with Bink's catching a bunch yesterday. Bass fishing is fair with many small ones. Crappie are slow. I had a 60-degree surface water temperature in Blackburns Creek yesterday and that means things are about to happen. When the shad spawn, the top water bite will begin. The nights are still too cold to allow for any rapid warming.
